We are bringing you this special edition of The Beaditorial live from Beads N Crystals, 212 Constance St Fortitude Valley where sightings have been reported of three new Swarovski Colours!

Staff, locals and jewellery designers are hysterical with claims these new colours for the 2011 fashion season have already arrived!

We can confirm that Provence Lavender and Fern Green Bicones along with Lavender Pearls have arrived! Authorities are urging designers to remain calm to prevent a possible stampede.

Australian Opal Cabochons

Published 09/09/2009

ABOUT
AUSTRALIAN
OPALS

In our line-up of new products this week we have a fantastic selection of premium Australian Boulder Opal Cabochons!

All of our opal cabs are 100% Australian mined, cut and polished.

Due to the rarity and cost of opals internationally, many tourists will buy a piece of opal jewellery before leaving Australia.

Our opal cabochons can be made into pendants, pendulums or earrings. Glue on one of our premium American-made bailes or wrap with fine wire.

Compare our prices! Our opals retail for just $7.44 per Carat with cabs starting from as small as 2 Carat!

About 97% of the world’s opals are mined in Australia and of that 90% are white opals and only 2% are Boulder Opal.

Boulder opal consists of a base rock, usually ironstone, with opal fracture fillings. Most of this is mined around Yowah in western Queensland , a leisurely 12.5 hour drive from Brisbane.

In the middle ages people believed opal provided great luck as it possessed the energy of every gemstone whose colour was represented in the opals spectrum.
